With the Louisiana Philharmonic orchestra in New Orleans

Variant 6 is heading to New Orleans to reprise excerpts from last season’s Virtue & Vice program with Filament Baroque and artists of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition to presenting the entire Ursuline set from Virtue & Vice, we will also be performing excerpts from two 18th century operas that were premiered in New Orleans - Gretry’s Sylvain, and Devienne’s Les Visitandines.

New Orleans Concert

educational residencies at University of Louisiana at Lafayette and Louisiana State University

After our concert in New Orleans we head to Lafayette and Baton Rouge Louisiana to work with students at UL Lafayette and LSU. Activities include vocal masterclasses, choral workshops, and student composer workshops. Both residencies will end with a concert of some of our favorite acapella repertoire from over the years including works by Monteverdi, Gesualdo, Howells, Joanne Metcalf, Benjamin C.S. Boyle, Jeremy Gill and more.
