Dušan Balarin
Peruvian-Croatian lutenist Dušan Balarin is a versatile soloist and accompanist recognized for his eclectic artistry and vibrant interpretations on a wide range of historical lutes and guitars. Driven by deep artistic curiosity, he performs across early music, jazz, and contemporary arts with leading artists and ensembles like Cécile McLorin Salvant, Les Arts Florissants, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. In addition to his role as a core member of Sonnambula Viols (ensemble-in-residence at the Frick Collection), he is a primary collaborator with major early music organizations such as The Newberry Consort, Opera Lafayette, Handel & Haydn Society, and Ruckus Early Music. Dušan holds graduate degrees from The Juilliard School and Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music.
