PAUL MAX TIPTON

Described by the Dallas Morning News as “gloriously godly”, bass-baritone Paul Max Tipton performs throughout North America, Europe, & Asia. He recently sang Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with Bach Collegium Japan under Masato Suzuki in Tokyo, Raphael & Adam in Haydn’s Creation with Pacific Symphony, Plutone in Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo with Göteborg Baroque, Christus in Bach’s St. John Passion with Seattle Symphony, and covered the title role in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro at Handel & Haydn Society under Raphaël Pichon. In 2026-2027, he debuts at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra singing Handel Messiah under Masaaki Suzuki and with A Far Cry Chamber Orchestra singing Bach, and returns to Saint Thomas Church Fifth Avenue as Christus in Bach’s St. John Passion. In 2012, Mr. Tipton was made a Lorraine Hunt Lieberson fellow at Emmanuel Music in Boston. He holds an MMus from Yale University and can be heard on the BIS & Avie labels.
