Serving as the centerpiece for this program is Philadelphia composer Benjamin C.S. Boyle’s first Cantata: To One in Paradise. This setting of text by Edgar Allen Poe was composed 20 years ago by Boyle and will be performed by four vocal soloists of Variant 6 and pianist Laura Ward. In addition to Boyle’s work, we will explore other compelling repertoire for voices and piano, including works by Fauré, Brahms, Britten and more.
